So what kinds of pets does everyone have?
I have a dog named Annie who is half Golden Retriever half Labrador Retriever. (She looks more like a Golden Retriever, though, and people are surprised to find out she's not a purebred Golden Retriever when they ask about her.) She's two years old and extremely friendly! She especially loves kids and loves to play! She has lots of energy and can get pretty hyper, and that can get annoying at times, especially when you're tired! I got Annie when she was just a puppy for $60 and she was the runt of the litter. (She only weighed six pounds when I took her to the vet to get her first puppy shots two days after I got her. Now she weighs about 110!
I also have a cat named Lucy who is about three years old. I found Lucy last year living in the woods behind my house. I believe someone dropped her off there because this is a really bad area for strays. I know she once belonged to someone else because her front claws have been declawed and she's been spayed. She was really skinny and hungry when I found her and me being the softy that I am, I couldn't leave her out there all by herself. It was just starting to get cold out when I found her, and we have a terrible problem with coyotes here, and she would've made the perfect meal for a coyote! I could tell she'd been around people before because she didn't run away from me when I approached her and she didn't act aggressive. She was really shy, though, but once she realized I had food and I wasn't going to hurt her she was OK. She didn't really trust anyone a lot at first, but now she's OK. She's gotten over the trust issue with me and my parents, but my mom and dad are the only other people besides myself that she's completely comfortable around! If anyone else comes around that she doesn't really know she'll run and hide and you won't see her until they leave. She really cried when I had to load her into the cat carrier and take her to the vet for shots and a Leukemia/FIV test this summer! She HATES the cat carrier and going to the vet!
It's funny, because she went from living out in the woods having nothing to eat to eating Iams Cat Food that costs about $8.50 a bag and spending a good portion of her day and all night sleeping on my bed. She was lucky!
Annie and Lucy don't fight, either. In fact, Annie looks out for Lucy and tries to play with her by offering her her toys and stuff! (That goes without saying that Annie tries to pick fights with Lucy, though, which usually results in Lucy smacking Annie on the top of her head with one of her paws. It's funny to watch because it's like watching little kids that are siblings fight! ) The only problem is Lucy doesn't play and never really has in the whole time I've had her!
